At the age of six, when his mother showed him the first chords on the guitar, Tchavolo did not yet know that he would meet so many famous people in his life.
At the age of twelve he is recognised as a musician by the gypsy community and is invited to join them for the Porte de Montreuil concerts.
Subsequently numerous contacts with the members of the Reinhardt family set the foundations of his present career.
Aged twenty he joins the “Hot Club da Sinti” with whom he makes his debuts as a professional musician. There he will mix with Wedeli Kohler and other personalities of swing music.
The meeting with Tony Gatlif in 1992 during the shooting of “Latcho Drom” marks a new step in his career.
Since then he has performed on the European jazz scene.
In 2002 he even becomes the pretext for “Swing” a film directed by Tony Gatlif.
Today, with Mayo Hubert and Martin Limberger, guitar players,Claudius Dupont on the double bass and Costel Nitescu, the virtuose and entrancing violin player, Tchavolo gives a real dimension to his noticeable talent.
With his new album Tchavolo sweeps us away with invigorating music, full of passion and above all with a pleasure shared.
