"Debapriya and Samanwaya are amongst the most excellent young musicians of India. Debapriya and Samanwaya blend beauty and brilliance in Indian Vocal and Instrumental music through their performance of Duet or Jugalbandi. Debapriya with mellifluous, pliant and easy moving voice over the three octaves and Samanwaya with his scintillating and honey dripped fingers enthralling, enchanting and enlivening the world with the power of music. They are accomplished in rendering different of Indian Classical Music like pure classical, tappa, tap-khyal, thumri, dadra, chaiti, holi, kajri, jhula, under able guidance of their Gurumaa Padmabhushan.Girija Devi. They have performed solos and duet at several prestigious concerts like Sawai Gandharva Sangeet Mahotsav, Pt. Mallikarjun Music Festival, Gangamahotsav, Samrat Sangeet Sammelan etc and also in International Music Festivals like Isle of Man, USA, France, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Denmark, Australia, Canada , UK, Albania etc. They performed exclusively also at several centers Vedanta Society under Ramkrishna Mission order at Australia and USA. They received several prestigious awards and many prizes at National and State level.
Debapriya, disciple of the legendary Padmabhushan Girija Devi of Benaras Gharana. He started music with his mother Smt. Anita Adhikary and then was taken to Pandit Samaresh Chawdhury of Senia Gharana for 13 years. He also got trained under Pt. Vijay Kichlu of Agra Gharana. But one man whom Debapriya recognizes as his Preceptor, who changed his entire approach for music is the late exponent of Agra Atrauli Gharana Pt. Kumar Prasad Mukhopadhyay.
Samanwaya, disciple of the legendary Padmabhushan Girija Devi of Benaras Gharana. He started his initial training with Pt. Sashanka Bandopadhyay of Senia gharana.He then got the able guidance of Pt. Manilal Nag of Bishnupur Gharana for 12 years. He then learnt with Pt. Shyamal Chatterjee of Senia Gharana and also later with late exponent of Agra Atrauli Gharana Pt. Kumar Prasad Mukhopadhyay."
